Born of The Spirit

John 3:6

"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."

God wants us to come to the place where He is. The moment Adam sinned against God, he was removed from a place in the Spirit, although he was in the same place in the physical realm.

2 Corinthians 5:17

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."

To be born of the flesh is to be a natural person. A natural person is someone who lives by his own judgement of what is good or bad - even if God doesn't speak to him. He's separated from God.

Christ is a place, Christ is a nature. The reality of where you are is of so much significance. Sometimes a location can regulate your nature.

The flesh is the natural inclination to do evil.

John 1:11-13

11. "He came unto His own, and His own received Him not.

12. But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:

13. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

He who is born of the Spirit is spirit, so pay attention to your spirit. God wants you to be in a location i.e in His presence (Mount Zion). And to get there, you need to be born of water and of The Spirit (Isaiah 55:8).

To be born of water...

The Word of God is the water. As you hear the word, it renews you, and changes your mind, persuades you towards doing the will of God.

To be born of the Spirit...

It means you are ushered into the Kingdom of God i.e where God is King. And because of that, you do what makes God happy. You do not live by the flesh because whatever truth is laid upon your spirit, you do it, because you are spirit.

Question:

How do we get baptized of the Spirit?

To be answered next class..
