Series: Falsehood, Its Nature, and Source: (John 8:1-46)

(Genesis 3:4)

Falsehood originates from a source, and the devil, being a liar himself, is its father (John 8:44). God stands as the ultimate source of truth (John 17:3), and anything contrary to His word constitutes falsehood.

The Lie the Devil Told Eve

The devil's deceit often begins subtly, as seen in his conversation with Eve (Genesis 3:1-4). We must discern and reject any conversation or idea that contradicts God's truth. Guarding our hearts against such deceit is vital to walking in truth.

Identifying the Lies Satan told Eve

That God did not really mean what He said : Satan questioned the clarity of God's command to Eve, sowing seeds of doubt (Genesis 3:3). However, God's word is steadfast and trustworthy (Numbers 23:19, Luke 1:22).

Eve misrepresented God's command, opening the door to deception (Genesis 3:2-3). Satan falsely claimed that disobedience wouldn't lead to death (Genesis 3:4).

Let's ensure we clearly represent what God is saying to the people who God has sent to follow us. Check and cross-check every word of God via what is written in the scriptures.

Read what's written in the word in context so that satan will not con you. Whenever you are not sure of what God has said or fully understand, check with your leader. Have a handle on and a mastery of what the word of God says.

Conclusion

We are saved to know God (John 17:3) and must anchor ourselves in His truth, discerning falsehood and clinging to His word. Understanding and applying God's truth shield us from the deceit of the enemy.
